Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company Presents Pacific Northwest
Truck Museum with Custom Accessory for its Collection

Portland, Oregon (8/10/09) - Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company, a long time sponsor of the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum in Brooks, OR, recently supplied the Museum with a one-off, custom trucking accessory to go along with an equally unique one-off semi tractor in its collection.

The Museum houses a fully functional, roadworthy, 2/3 scale replica of a 1960 Freightliner semi tractor hand-built by former Freightliner CEO Ken Self. The Museum had a matching flatbed trailer built for use with the small-scale tractor, but had no way of moving the trailer around its facility when the tractor was on display. For a solution, the Museum approached converter dolly experts, Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company, to custom build an appropriately sized dolly so the trailer could be moved by a “yard mule” when needed.

The Museum supplied Silver Eagle with the necessary small-scale wheels and tires, shortened axle hubs, and fifth wheel plate, and Silver Eagle went to work building the custom dolly.

Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company Development Center engineer intern, Todd Rautenkranz, designed the dolly's frame and took styling cues from the company's VA and Falcon dollies. R&D technician, Jim Griep, refurbished the provided fifth wheel plate and dolly wheels, and technician Aleksey Nogin welded and assembled the dolly's frame. The frame was e-coated and painted at Silver Eagle's facility in Portland, OR, then assembled and prepped for delivery to the Museum.

On July 15, 2009, the completed 2/3 scale dolly was presented to the Museum President and staff by Silver Eagle Chairman, Gary Gaussoin.
