Silver Eagle Manufacturing Announces Limited Lifetime Warranty on its Aerodynamic Skirts
Portland, Oregon (8/20/09) - Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company will offer a limited lifetime warranty on its aerodynamic skirts, an extension from the products’ previous one-year warranty, effective on products shipped after September 1, 2009.
“By offering a limited lifetime warranty on our aerodynamic skirts, we assure our customers that Silver Eagle products are durable and will stand the test of time on the nation’s highways,” said Jay Wilson, president and CEO of the Portland, Oregon-based Silver Eagle Manufacturing Company. “Silver Eagle has a track record of adding value to our products to help our long-haul trucking customers achieve quicker and higher returns on investment. This longer warranty is another way we assure our products can help with that viability.”
The company’s new SmartWay Certified mid-length side skirt fairing is one of the products to get the new limited lifetime warranty. The SmartWay designation makes these skirts compliant with the California Air Resources Board legislation requiring 53-foot van trailers operating in California to install aerodynamic devices. All 2011 model year trailers will be required to comply by January 2010, and all other model years by the end of 2012.
SmartWay certification is based on a comprehensive set of fuel savings specifications for Class 8 long-haul truckers. By 2012, the initiative aims to reduce as much as 66 million metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and up to 200,000 tons of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions per year, as well as a targeted fuel savings of up to 150 million barrels of oil annually.
